It is important before you bring your pup home that you set up a vet appiontment. This should be done within the first 72 hours of your puppy coming home. You want to make sure it is free of disease and healthy. If you have any questions or concerns you need to contact me within 72 hours. When you visit the vet the first time around your pup will NOT need another vaccine. Please bring a stool specimen in to make sure your pup doesn't have worms. It is very common for young pups at this age to have worms so this needs to be checked. We do put them on a very stirct deworming program but sometimes worms become immune to the meds we use so if you do find out your pup has worms please call us and let us know!
Please realize that your pup doesn't have all it's vaccines when you initially take it to the vet. DON'T put your puppy down on the floor, let it touch noses with other dogs or let anyone (other then the vet) touch it. Carry your puppy in and out of the clinic. You don't want your dog to catch any type of disease from the clinic environment so this is very important.
Before you leave the clinic set up another appiontment for the pups 2nd set of vaccines (which will need to be 3-4 weeks after there first set)
