#2 puppy collar and leash (the smallest adjustable puppy collar you can find)
#3 puppy toys and treats (ie Kongs and soft squeaky toys)
#4 puppy toothbrush and puppy toothpaste

#6 Eukanuba (small, Medium or Large) puppy food and a storage bin (Small breed for the tinys, Medium breed for the mini and Large breed puppy food for the standadard sized goldendoodles)

#8 I highly recommend reading a book or 2 before you get your puppy. These are the books I recommend
"The dog Listener" by Jan Fennell

"Culture Clash" by Jean Donaldson

"Puppies for Dummies"

"How to be your dogs best friend" and "the art of raising a puppy" by the Monks of New Skete. This also comes in a CD series of 4 I highly recommend it and I think all new owners should listen to this before buying a pup. You can purchase them on Ebay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"The Dog's Mind: Understanding Your Dog's Behavior" by Bruce Fogle, Anne B. Wilson

"How to Raise a Puppy You Can Live With" by Clarise Rutherford and David Neil
and for those of you with children read

"Childproofing Your Dog : A Complete Guide to Preparing Your Dog for the Children in Your Life" by Sarah Wilson and Brian Kilcommons

Any book written by Ceasar Milan (the dog whisper)!

#9 puppy proof your house (lift up plants, buy baby gates to keep the puppy out of certain area's)
#10 a cordless dremel to sand your dogs nails (better then nail clippers and I'll show you how they work!)
#11 Brush- slicker curved comb(for when they're puppies), dematting brush and pin comb (when they are older)!
#12 start looking into dog obedience classes (very important) remember there's nothing better then a well trained dog!!!!!!!! and set up an initial visit with a vet!
#13 a can of 100% pure pumpkin paste (all natural). When some puppies go home the stress and change causes them to have diarrhea. Only give this to them if they get runny stools. Give 1tbsp/serving of dog food.
#14 bitter apple (bitter tasting prevents pups from biting, nipping and chewing on things)
#15 Nature's Miracle (gallon size) or similar stain/odor neutralizer
#16 Pooper Scooper & bags
#17supplements Ester C (found at a health food store) and Nuvet or Nujoint
Easter C is for bone/cartilage development. There was a research study done where a researcher bred 2 dogs with hip dysplasia and he fed the mothers vitamin C during and after pregnancy and also gave it to the pups. He did this many times with different dogs (parents) and none of their offspring developed HD. I believe HD has to do with many factors. I believe it is genetic and this is why we x-ray all parents before breeding but I also believe it is partly environmental and how we feed/look after our dogs. Many dog foods are low in vitamin C. We have fed the mothers Vitamin C from the time of pregnancy right up until now so we would like you to continue giving your puppy 1 500mg tablet a day. You can also give the pup foods (vegetables) high in vitamin C. This will ensure proper bone growth and development. As for the Nuvet/Nujoint supplements I highly recommend them! I've written out a bit about them below.
NuVet Labs is based in California and makes 2 supplements #1 Nuvet and #2 Nujoint. Nujoint contains MSN, chondroitin and glucosamine. Glucosamine provides the joints with building blocks needed to repair the damage caused by osteoarthritis (bone arthritis). Hip dysplasia breaks down cartilage and glucosamine helps animals synthesize new cartilage needed to replace the damaged cartilage. Condroitin works by holding fluids in the cartilage which helps lubricate the joints, increase mobility and reduce discomfort of HD. It also helps with the absorption of glucosamine.
Nuvet is the other supplement that helps strengthens the immune system. It comes in a little treat size pill. The dogs love them and I use them as treats instead of dog biscuits which are basically filler and sugar. The dogs love these supplements and I'm actually improving their overall health by giving them! If you would like to order these supplements time please call 1 800-474-7044 give them the ORDER CODE 64857 (you can't get them in pet stores, it was developed by a panel of vets and is only available at the Lab in CA so you need to order it from them)
